About Heather
To me, art is an attempt to mirror the beauty and truth around us. I try to create what I want to reflect into the world, just like the moon reflects the sun’s rays into the night. Being a self-taught artist brings a level of experimentation to my pieces that I never tire of experiencing.
My desire to paint began late one night almost 14 years ago, close to midnight, after bouncing my two-month baby to sleep. I had dreamed of colors and shapes the night before and after thinking about them all day, I had to put them into the world somehow. With my little one in a sling on my chest, I painted for hours and felt a missing piece of myself fall into place.
There is a never-ending stream of inspiration in the open air under the moon. I hope I can reflect that to you through my pieces, so that you too, may find a longing to create.
